How it opens
In the snowbound town of Abila, Perrin walks out of the house of Masema, the man his followers call the Prophet of the Lord Dragon. Rand sent him to bring Masema back, but Masema thinks it blasphemy for anyone but Rand to touch the One Power, so there is no Traveling, only a ride of four hundred leagues or more. Back at his forest camp, Perrin learns that Aiel attacked a hunting party, and his wife Faile and Queen Alliandre have not come back. Elyas and Gaul set off to track them, and that night snow begins to fall over the trail.
