Edarra

Edarra stood among the Wise Ones encamped outside Cairhien, one of a company that included women such as Amys, Bair, Sorilea, and Melaine. Their tents lay apart from the city itself, and from them the Wise Ones watched everything that touched Aiel interests, from the maneuvering of Cairhienin and Tairen nobles around Rand al'Thor to the Tower embassy of six Aes Sedai lodged within the walls. In that company Edarra held her own place, present at the councils where such matters were weighed.

She carried herself with firm authority. There was nothing tentative in her manner of command; she gave direction plainly and expected it to be followed, and she kept herself and those around her ready for conflict rather than trusting that peace would hold. Even Aes Sedai found that her word was not a thing to be brushed aside.

Beneath the discipline ran conviction. Edarra held strong views about what served the Aiel and what did not, and about how threats to her people, the Seanchan among them, ought to be answered. She was not the loudest voice among the Wise Ones camped near Cairhien, nor the most famous, but she was a woman who knew her own mind and expected the world to reckon with it.
