How it opens
Three months after Under the Mountain, Feyre lives at Tamlin's manor in a new immortal body, sick with nightmares that she and Tamlin never speak about. Her wedding to Tamlin is two weeks away, and the High Priestess Ianthe is helping to plan it. Tamlin refuses to let her help rebuild the nearby village, saying it is not safe while Amarantha's creatures still roam his lands. The tattoo on her left arm marks her bargain to spend one week of every month with Rhysand, High Lord of the Night Court, and she has not heard from him in three months.
