How it opens
On Great Wyk, the priest Aeron Damphair is drowning men in the surf when Gormond Goodbrother brings word that Aeron's brother, King Balon, has died in a fall from a bridge at Pyke. At the Hammerhorn, Lord Gorold tells him that Euron Crow's Eye has sailed into Lordsport and claimed the castle and the crown. Aeron counsels silence, and at Pebbleton he summons the captains and the kings to Old Wyk for a kingsmoot. In Dorne, Prince Doran Martell has had a raven telling him that his brother Oberyn is dead, and Oberyn's daughters Obara, Nym and Tyene each come to press him for vengeance. Back at Sunspear, Doran orders his captain of guards, Areo Hotah, to take his brother's daughters into custody.
