Aeron Greyjoy

Youngest of the brothers of Lord Balon Greyjoy of Pyke, Aeron Greyjoy is a man remade. In his youth he is known for drink, boasting, and merriment; the man he becomes is another creature altogether, a gaunt, stern priest of the Drowned God called Aeron Damphair, sea-soaked and solemn, who walks the shores of the Iron Islands baptizing men in salt water and speaking for the god beneath the waves. A near-drowning turns him from his old life to his god's service, and none now doubt his devotion. Uncle to Theon and Asha Greyjoy, he preaches the Old Way of the ironborn and his faith's promise that what is given to the sea rises again, harder and stronger.
