Sea Folk women who read wind and current for their ships, weaving Air and Water more powerfully than most Aes Sedai dare, and advising Sailmistresses and the Mistress of the Ships.
Windfinders are the women of the Sea Folk who read wind and current and advise Sailmistresses, Wavemistresses and the Mistress of the Ships on the course a vessel takes. They channel, and the demands of their work make them formidable with flows of Air and Water, which they weave far thicker than most Aes Sedai care to attempt. Fire and Earth they largely neglect, since life at sea gives them little cause to cultivate either, and many Windfinders have less skill there than other female channelers. Command of a ship rests with the Sailmistress, but the Windfinder holds one right of her own: she may refuse passage to anyone who can channel.
