White Ajah
The White Ajah is the smallest of the seven Ajahs of the Aes Sedai, given to logic and philosophy, its sisters known for cool reason, exact speech, and a plainness worn like a uniform.
The White Ajah completes the seven societies of the Aes Sedai described from the early books of The Wheel of Time, beginning in The Eye of the World. Whites set themselves apart from the concerns that drive the other Ajahs; they take little interest in politics, causes, or worldly knowledge, and devote themselves instead to philosophy and the pursuit of truth through pure logic. It is the smallest Ajah, and its sisters carry a reputation to match their calling: cool, precise, and serene to the point of seeming bloodless, with a spare, exact way of dressing to go with it. Other sisters joke that a White has no passions at all, which misses the truth. The passion is there, spent entirely on the argument, the proof, and the question of what can actually be known. The head of the White Ajah bears the title First Reasoner.
