A Wavemistress leads one of the Sea Folk clans while still sailing as Sailmistress of her own ship.
A Wavemistress leads one of the clans of the Atha'an Miere, and holds that place while still sailing as Sailmistress of her own ship. She appoints a Swordmaster from among her officers, usually her Cargomaster, and keeps one of her Windfinders beside her as adviser. Rank among the Sea Folk is worn on the face, and hers is unmistakable: the medallions hang from her nose ring in such numbers that there is often no gap left between them.
