Theodrin Dabei is a Domani Aes Sedai of the Brown Ajah, apple-cheeked and willowy, with an expression that always looks on the edge of a smile.

Theodrin Dabei is one of the women of the White Tower, the great spire at the heart of Tar Valon. The city fills an island in the River Erinin, reached from the banks by long bridges, and within its walls the Tower keeps a world of its own: grounds and stableyards, guarded gates, the corridors of the novices' quarters, and, high above, the study and antechamber of the Amyrlin Seat herself.

It is a place governed by rule. Women come there to learn, and the learning is watched closely; rooms can be kept under guard, and leaving without permission carries a heavy price. The Tower's order reaches into every hour of the day, from the kitchens where punishments are worked off to the square where its business is done, and everyone within its walls knows exactly where she stands in it.

Theodrin is found where that business gathers its women, whether in the novices' quarters or waiting in the Amyrlin's antechamber, and she is most often seen in the company of Faolain, another woman of the Tower. Among so many people bound by so many rules, she keeps her place without fuss, one figure among the ordered ranks of Tar Valon.
