Teslyn Baradon was a Sitter of the Red Ajah, an Illianer woman of gaunt and angular bearing whose manner was as austere as her reputation.

Teslyn Baradon held one of the chairs from which the Hall of the Tower governed, the council of Sitters who deliberated and voted on the weightiest business of the Aes Sedai. Her place was in Tar Valon, in the White Tower itself, and among the sisters of her Ajah she had risen far enough to speak for them all whenever the Hall convened.

The Tower she helped govern was passing through an unsettled time. Elaida do Avriny a'Roihan had only just been raised to the Amyrlin Seat, and reports of trouble came in from across the lands: civil strife in Shienar, and the escape of the false Dragon Mazrim Taim. Matters of that weight brought the Sitters to the Amyrlin's study, Teslyn among them, and the deliberations held there mattered far beyond Tar Valon's walls.

She was not a comfortable woman to sit across from. Where many sisters cultivated subtlety, Teslyn preferred confrontation, and anyone she judged a threat or an enemy could expect to be told so bluntly, then to find her working toward having them detained; she saw little use in gentler methods. She was the same in the Hall as anywhere else: hard, direct, and certain of the Tower's authority.
