Tarabon
Tarabon is a nation of the southwestern coast of the Westlands whose capital, Tanchico, is one of the great ports of the Aryth Ocean, a land ruled jointly by a King and a Panarch.
Tarabon enters The Wheel of Time in The Great Hunt, as rumor and rivalry on the western edge of the map. It is a nation of the southwestern coast, bordered by Amadicia to the east and the contested Almoth Plain to the north, and its capital, Tanchico, stands on hills above one of the finest harbors on the Aryth Ocean, at the mouth of the River Andahar. Rule is split by long custom between a King and a Panarch, one man and one woman, each supreme in separate spheres, and the Panarch's Palace holds a collection of bones and relics said to survive from the Age of Legends. Taraboners call themselves the Tree of Man and claim descent from rulers of that lost age; the tree on their banner honors the claim. Men and women alike go veiled in Tarabon, and to outsiders the land is a byword for intrigue conducted very politely.
