Slayer
Slayer was a cunning Borderland servant of the Dark One, a man who moved through deception and careful reconnaissance, confident that faithful service would earn its reward.
Slayer was Borderland in his looks: a tall man, dark-haired, with features that recalled Lan's. He served the Dark One, and he served with the confidence of a man who trusted his own abilities completely. Deception was his working method, and careful watching; he studied ground thoroughly before he moved across it.
The country he had made his own lay around the Two Rivers: the Westwood, the Sand Hills, the Waterwood, and up into the Mountains of Mist, with Watch Hill, Deven Ride, Taren Ferry, and Emond's Field all inside its bounds. He moved through that ground patiently, and little of it went unstudied. He was a hunter before he was anything else, and wolves were among his quarry.
One thing separated him from any other hunter in that country. Slayer walked the wolf dream, and he was present there in the flesh, which no ordinary dreamer could claim. The Tower of Ghenjei lay within reach of that dream country, and he knew his way to it. The evil he carried was an ancient one.
