The Seanchan are invaders, and the beaten soldiers who have faced them tell of men riding monsters into battle as often as horses.
These invaders land in large, oddly shaped ships. They call themselves Seanchan, and also Hailene, an Old Tongue word for the Forerunners, and Rhyagelle, or Those Who Come Home, and they speak of a Return. Many who meet them babble of Artur Hawkwing's armies coming back. On Toman Head the conquered folk keep their eyes down and bow whenever the armored soldiers pass.
