Saidar
The female half of the One Power, drawn from the True Source, controlled by surrender rather than force, ringed by a glow only other channelers can see, and untainted since the Age of Legends.
Saidar is the female half of the One Power, the half of the True Source that women who can channel draw on. It works with and against saidin, the male half, and together the two drive the Wheel of Time. Unlike saidin it was never tainted, and it remains safe to use. Reaching it is a matter of surrender rather than force: a woman empties herself, an emptiness often pictured as a rosebud opening to the light, then guides the flow instead of commanding it. Fighting the Source makes it come wildly or overwhelm her. When she embraces saidar a glow surrounds her that only other women who can channel see, and it fills her with what feels like life itself redoubled. Calm is required, since haste, fear or too much temper can shatter the connection, and letting go again takes conscious effort, because the Power grows more desirable the more it is held.
