Romanda Cassin was a Yellow Ajah Sitter from Far Madding, the eldest among the Sitters and one of the most powerful voices in the Hall of the Tower.

Romanda Cassin sits in the Hall of the Aes Sedai gathered at Salidar, where she speaks for the Yellow and expects to be heard. Born in Far Madding, she has outlived every other woman holding a Sitter's chair, and her years give her words a weight few in the Hall can match. When she raises her voice, and she raises it often, the debate tends to bend around her.

The Salidar she inhabits is an anxious place. The women assembled there face questions they would rather not answer: what to do about Rand al'Thor, about the Forsaken, about the Black Ajah, and about the summons carried from Elaida's Tower by the envoy Tarna. Fear and hesitation grip much of the leadership, and decisions stall. Romanda is not a woman inclined to wait.

She is a political creature through and through, willing to turn a personal connection into factional advantage when it serves her purpose. Judgments come easily to her, particularly on matters of leadership and military affairs, and she delivers them without softening. Once she has stated a position, she does not move from it.
