Red Ajah
The Red Ajah is the largest of the seven Ajahs of the Aes Sedai, dedicated to guarding against misuse of the One Power, above all by finding men who can channel and bringing them to the White Tower for gentling.
The Red Ajah is the largest of the seven Ajahs of the White Tower, and its purpose is blunt: to guard the world against the misuse of the One Power, above all by men. Because the male half of the Power carries the Dark One's taint, any man who channels is doomed to madness, and Red sisters spend their lives finding such men and bringing them to Tar Valon to be gentled, cut off from the Power forever. It is Reds who take the field when a false Dragon rises. Sisters of the Ajah bond no Warders and keep few friendships outside their own, and their leader, known within the Ajah as the Highest, holds an authority the others rarely question. Wariness of men runs deep in the Red, and a millennium of cold rivalry stands between them and the Blue.
