Rafela Cindal

Rafela Cindal has sat for the Blue Ajah in the Hall of the Tower, and few sisters care more for the Ajah's inheritance. The old customs of the Blue, some of them ancient and long fallen out of use, are her particular passion, and she works steadily to see them revived and properly observed.

Newly raised sisters get the full benefit of that devotion. She has escorted new Blues through the Tower corridors herself, and the escort comes with a running commentary: which courtesies the Ajah keeps, which traditions attend a welcome into the Blue quarters, where each observance comes from and what it asks. When the Blue sisters in Tar Valon gather to receive a newcomer, Rafela is in her element.

For her the customs are not ornament; she treats their observance as part of what it means to be Blue. No tradition is too small for her attention, and none too old to bring back.
