Murandy

Murandy is a small country of hills and farmland with Andor to the north, Altara to the west, Illian to the south, and the Plains of Maredo to the east, and its capital is Lugard, a dusty crossroads city that lives on the trade rolling through it, wedged among larger neighbors. The crown in Lugard commands little. Murandians give their allegiance to a local lord or lady first, their town second, and the nation a distant third, and border lords do much as they please, which keeps a long quarrel with Andor over the northern marches alive. The land produces wool, mutton, beef, and leather, some gold and silver from scattered mines, and lace that sells well abroad. Murandians themselves have a name for stubbornness and touchy pride, and history has given them reason to distrust every neighbor they have.
