Moria Karentanis was an Illianer Aes Sedai Sitter of the Blue Ajah, plain-featured and plain-dressed, with a thick accent and none of the grace her station might suggest.

Moria Karentanis held a Sitter's chair for the Blue Ajah in a Hall of the Tower that met under canvas. Those were divided days for Aes Sedai: Elaida do Avriny a'Roihan held Tar Valon and the White Tower, while the Hall Moria sat in followed Egwene al'Vere as Amyrlin and convened in a pavilion, in a camp wintering on the borders of Andor and Murandy.

Between that Amyrlin and that Hall ran a quiet contest over who directed whom. Romanda Cassin and Lelaine Akashi each meant to steer Egwene, and neither meant to let the other manage it. Andoran and Murandian nobles had business with the camp, Pelivar, Arathelle, and Aemlyn among them, and they carried their own doubts about what the Aes Sedai intended.

Other chairs belonged to Janya, Escaralde, Takima, Malind, Salita, and Berana. A formal session could be called wherever the camp happened to stand; the Hall of the Tower was its Sitters, not a building. Moria held her chair without any ceremony at all.
