Morgase Trakand
Morgase Trakand was the Queen of Andor, a politically shrewd ruler who claimed the Lion Throne for House Trakand after training in the White Tower and winning the Third Succession War.
Morgase Trakand held her court at Caemlyn, in a palace at the heart of the Inner City, with the Queen's Guards at its gates and a garden within its walls. Gareth Bryne stood among the men of that court, and an Aes Sedai stood near the throne as well: Elaida, whose warnings the Queen weighed without being ruled by them.
Family and realm were tangled together for her. Elayne, the Daughter-Heir of Andor, and Gawyn, its First Prince, were part of that court, and Morgase was fiercely protective of her children, and of her authority in nearly the same measure. Galad was a familiar figure in the palace as well. Beyond the palace walls lay the Inner City and the New City, and all of it answered to her; Andor respected its queen.
She judged what came before her with her own ears. A petitioner's account was weighed for whether it held together, and the way a person spoke could count with her as much as any counsel offered from beside the throne. She was accustomed to wielding power, and stubborn when crossed. She was proud, she was capable, and she did not share power easily.
