Moiraine Damodred
Moiraine was a disciplined, strategic thinker driven by duty to the Tower and belief in the Pattern's design, initially displaying controlled confidence that evolved into genuine care for those she guided.
When the women of the Tower first started learning of her, Moiraine was an Accepted nearing the end of her training in Tar Valon, close enough to the shawl that the test for Aes Sedai occupied her days and her practice. Noble-born in Cairhien, she carried the polish of that upbringing into the corridors of the White Tower, where rank counted for less than skill and where she was measured, like every Accepted, by what she could learn and how well she could hold herself under scrutiny. And she held herself very well. Observant and intelligent, she watched more than she spoke, and always remembered what she learned.
Her closest companion in those years was Siuan Sanche, a fellow Accepted with whom she practiced relentlessly, the two of them working side by side in the Accepted's quarters while the shawl hung just out of reach. It was a friendship built on shared labor and shared discipline, and it became fundamental to who Moiraine would become in her years inside and outside the Tower.
There was a method in everything she did. She packed with care, writing materials and practical supplies chosen deliberately, nothing wasted. She rode a mare named Arrow. She kept a firm hand on her own use of the One Power, restraining herself from touching it improperly even when temptation offered. Rules mattered, self-command mattered more. Composed, precise, and quietly ambitious, Moiraine was a young woman shaped exactly to the Tower's design, but unbeknownst to them, already something more than that shaping could contain.
