Min Farshaw was a sharp-eyed young woman working at an inn in Baerlon who could see strange visions clinging to the people around her, flickering images she could not explain and could not ignore.

Min Farshaw made her living at an inn in Baerlon, and she lived on her own terms. She was fiercely independent, with no patience for anyone who tried to control her or wave her aside, and she made that plain whenever anyone did.

The images she saw around other people were simply part of how the world looked to her, and she handled them by paying close attention. By nature she was an observer, and by habit an advisor; when she had a warning to give or a piece of counsel to offer, she gave it, whether or not it was welcome.

None of that independence made her cold. She cared deeply about the people close to her, and her watchfulness was worth more to them than most of them understood. Her warnings came from that care as much as from anything her eyes showed her. She noticed what others missed, she said what she thought, and she looked after her own.
