Logain Ablar
Logain Ablar was a Ghealdanin man of striking build and rare strength in the One Power, already a name spoken with unease across nations before his story truly began.
In Caemlyn, Logain Ablar was a captive: a false Dragon shut inside an iron cage mounted on a massive wagon, with Aes Sedai and their Warders keeping guard on every side. The escort said as much about him as the cage did, for men of no consequence did not travel under the watch of so many sisters.
Nothing in his manner belonged to a defeated man. He held himself with a regal bearing, as though the cage were a formality and the crowds pressing close had gathered to honor him rather than to stare. He could laugh in open defiance of his captivity, and he did. The bars held his body. They never touched his pride.
The city that received him was itself uneasy, divided in its feelings about Aes Sedai and their influence, so that the sight of the sisters guarding him stirred as much discord as the man in the cage. He was bound for the Palace in the Inner City, to be displayed before Queen Morgase, a trophy meant to prove that even a false Dragon could be brought low. He did not think of himself as beaten.
