Liandrin Guirale
Liandrin Guirale is an Aes Sedai of the Red Ajah, a Taraboner woman of striking, doll-like features and honey-colored hair worn in thin beaded braids, and one of the stronger channelers of her generation.
Among the Aes Sedai who attend the Amyrlin Seat at Fal Dara keep, Liandrin is one of the youngest, and one of the prettiest, a fact that softens nothing about her. The doll's face sits atop a manner that is anything but sweet. She is petulant where her sisters are serene, and her displeasure shows in a way most women of the White Tower long ago trained out of themselves. The beads in her thin honey braids click when she turns her head, and she turns it often, toward whatever she has decided concerns her.
Her Ajah suits her. The Red is not known for warmth, and Liandrin wears its color like a verdict. Yet even among the sisters gathered in the women's apartments, something in her stands apart. Her curiosity runs in odd channels. Her questions land where they were not invited, probing at doors and chambers that are none of her affair, and she offers no account of why she asks. Whatever purposes she carries, she carries them alone.
What cannot be denied is her strength. In a generation of channelers she ranks among the most powerful, and she knows it. That knowledge sits behind the pretty face and the clicking beads. Very few in Fal Dara trust her, and no one is eager to cross her.
