Leane Sharif
Leane Sharif was the Keeper of the Chronicles, the second-highest authority in the White Tower, a Domani woman who enforced Tower protocol with cold precision and guarded access to the Amyrlin Seat herself.
Leane Sharif was Aes Sedai of the Blue Ajah and a Sitter in the Hall of the Tower, one of the sisters chosen to speak for the Blue in the governing councils of the White Tower. That chair placed her near the center of Tower business in Tar Valon, among the women whose deliberations shaped the life of the Tower from day to day.
Within her own Ajah, Leane was one of the warmer presences a newly raised sister could hope to meet. The Tower greeted its new Aes Sedai with heavy formality: a testing in the chambers far below, the swearing of the Three Oaths in the Hall, a long ceremonial walk through the corridors before a woman finally reached the quarters of her chosen Ajah. Leane softened that passage where she could. She walked beside the newly raised, answered their worries about Blue customs with reassurance rather than correction, and treated the strangeness of a new life as something to be eased. When the Blue sisters in Tar Valon gathered in their quarters to welcome an incoming member of the Ajah, she stood among the welcomers as a matter of course. For Leane, kindness counted for more than ceremony.
