Lan Mandragoran
Lan Mandragoran is a tall man who walks with one hand resting on the long hilt of his sword.
Lan Mandragoran keeps close to the Lady Moiraine, walking at her shoulder and bending to speak to her. The two are strangers in Emond's Field. Lan wears a cloak that changes color, and when he stands beside her among the gleeman's listeners, Rand has to look twice to see him at all.
Lan's face is all hard planes and angles, weathered but unlined, and he moves in a way that calls a wolf to mind. His eyes are a cold blue, unusual in the Two Rivers, where nearly everyone's eyes are dark. Passing three village youths, Lan runs his gaze over them as if weighing each one. He also wears a sword, something Rand has otherwise seen only on merchants' guards.
