Kandor
Kandor is one of the four Borderland nations that guard the Westlands against the Blight, a country of traders as much as soldiers, lying between Saldaea and Arafel under the sign of the Red Horse.
Kandor is one of the Borderland nations named from the early books of The Wheel of Time, beginning in The Eye of the World. It lies on the threshold of the Great Blight, between Saldaea to the west and Arafel to the east, stretching from the Plain of Lances to a tributary of the Erinin, with its capital at Chachin. Its banner is a rearing red horse on a field of pale green. Like its neighbors, Kandor was born in the War of the Hundred Years, when the governors of Artur Hawkwing's five northern provinces agreed to form stable nations rather than fight one another while the Blight pressed south. Alone among the Borderlands, Kandor is as well known for its merchants as for its lancers; Kandori trading houses reach every market in the Westlands, and furs from Kandor, fox skins above all, fetch high prices everywhere. Even so, the watch on the Blight comes before everything.
