Hurin
Hurin was a sniffer from Fal Dara, a Shienaran thief-taker with the rare ability to smell the trail of violence left by those who had done harm.
Hurin served the King's justice in Fal Dara, in Shienar, where his talent made him valuable to the law. To him the scent of violence lingered wherever harm had been done, and he could follow that smell to the people responsible, the way a hound follows a trail. Killing left the strongest stink, but lesser cruelties left their mark on the air too.
He held the rank of a soldier in Fal Dara's service, an ordinary man of no high station whose gift set him apart from other thief-takers.
