Galina Casban was an Aes Sedai of the Red Ajah, its Highest and most feared member, known across the lands for a ruthlessness that left little room for mercy or regret.
Galina Casban was in Cairhien on the Tower's business, one of the sisters of an embassy lodged at Lady Arilyn's palace for the length of its stay. The delegation answered to Coiren Saeldain and counted six Aes Sedai, Nesune Bihara among them, with Katerine Alruddin in the city besides.
Galina herself was not a warm presence in that company. The courtesies the work required came off her with cold efficiency, the manner of a woman who wasted nothing, least of all feeling. Other sisters could read what she was well enough, and most of them quietly chose not to test it.
The embassy's business was no secret. The Tower wanted Rand al'Thor escorted to Tar Valon, and the sisters had come to see it arranged; the guard that rode with the delegation was under Gawyn Trakand's command. When the work in the city was finished, Tar Valon was where the party meant to return.
