Ever Victorious Army
The army of Seanchan, undefeated in war and named for it, which answers lost battles by changing its methods, and whose ranks run from Marshal-General down to Standard Bearer.
The Ever Victorious Army is the name given to the army of Seanchan, so called because it has never been defeated. It has lost battles, but by its own description it adapts constantly, switching strategy and method so that the next meeting with a given enemy goes its way. Its ranks run from Marshal-General and Captain-General down through Lieutenant-General, Captain of the Gold, Banner-General, First Gardener, Captain of the Green, Captain of the Air, Captain and ship captain, to First Lieutenant, Lieutenant, Under-Lieutenant and Standard Bearer.
