Egeanin Tamarath

Egeanin Tamarath was a ship's captain in the Seanchan forces that held Falme, the port city at the tip of Toman Head where the land meets the Aryth Ocean. Her work was the sea, and the authority given to her there was considerable: among the resources under her command were damane, channelers kept in captivity and wielded as weapons, instruments that made a Seanchan vessel a very different thing from any trader working the coast out of Tanchico.

She served within a hierarchy of exacting rigor. Every Seanchan on Toman Head, from deckhand to captain, stood on a precise rung of rank and obedience, and above them all in Falme sat the High Lord Turak, to whom matters of consequence were brought. Egeanin observed the forms of that order without hesitation or complaint, and she kept its discipline aboard ship and ashore.

Falme itself, with its harbor, its docks, and its cobblestone streets, belonged to her people now, and she moved through it as an officer with duties to perform and a clear understanding of where she stood. Her reputation rested on her seamanship: a capable captain, correct in her service, at home on the water.
