Dyelin Taravin

Dyelin Taravin is a golden-haired woman of high Andoran blood, and by descent she stands next in line for the Lion Throne itself. That claim is hers to press if she chooses, yet what occupies her when the realm first meets her is not her own elevation but Andor's stability, and the unsettled question of Elayne's succession. Where the throne is concerned, her weight rests behind the claim of another rather than her own.

She belongs to the small circle of great nobles whose names carry real force in the realm's politics, alongside Luan, Abelle, and Ellorien, and when Andor's Houses come to treat with the power now seated in Caemlyn's Royal Palace, Dyelin is among those who walk into the hall to speak for the realm. She is a woman worth courting: Aes Sedai seek her out at The Crown of Roses to talk of Elayne's claim and of peace with Rand al'Thor, because her support, once won, matters.

Her manner suits her station. She is cautious in her dealings, willing to hear a proposal out and slow to bind herself to it, and even genuine shock does not scatter her judgment. Rules of succession matter to her, the good of Andor matters more. She gives her word carefully; when she gives it, it holds.
