Demira Eriff is a Domani Aes Sedai of the Brown Ajah, part of the Salidar embassy sent to meet Rand in Caemlyn, and a woman who could forgive a great deal in any man willing to start a school.

Demira Eriff comes to Caemlyn among nine Aes Sedai, an embassy sent out from Salidar to seek the support of the Dragon Reborn. The sisters lodge at The Crown of Roses inn, with Merana Ambrey, Seonid Traighan, Masuri Sokawa, and Berenicia Morsad among their company, while the man they came for keeps to the Royal Palace. Their welcome is a guarded one: he forbids them the Black Tower and his Asha'man, and sets limits on where they may go and what they may do, so that the embassy's business proceeds at a distance and on his terms.

Some of that business runs quietly. Sisters from the delegation call on Andoran nobles, among them Dyelin, Luan, and Ellorien, speaking for Elayne's claim to the throne of Andor and urging peace with al'Thor. It is slow, careful labor, conducted sister by sister across the city, and it asks a particular kind of patience of everyone lodged at the inn.

It is a pace that suits Demira well enough. Her tastes run toward scholarship rather than statecraft; learning sits near the center of what she values, and she measures men in part by what they do for it. She passes her days at The Crown of Roses as one of nine sisters in a city held by the man they came to win, waiting on terms that are not theirs to set.
