The Blue Ajah is one of the seven Ajahs of the White Tower, its sisters marked by blue fringe on their shawls, and a Red sister sneers that Blues cling to the past.
Moiraine, herself a Blue, tells Loial that her Ajah, unlike the Red, holds that Ogier sanctuary helped save what could be saved in the Breaking. Leaving Caemlyn, she tells Master Gill that if trouble comes he can write to Sheriam, a Blue sister in Tar Valon. The Amyrlin and her Keeper both come from the Blue, as do four of the last five Amyrlins, and the Amyrlin scorns a proposal in the Hall to send two more Blues along with her.
