Androl Genhald was a Taraboner Asha'man of the Black Tower, a leatherworker by trade whose gift for weaving gateways far outstripped what his modest strength in the One Power should have allowed.

Androl Genhald keeps a workshop at the Black Tower, where he cuts and stitches leather with a craftsman's patience; the armguards he makes there are the work of his old trade, and he does that work well. Among the Asha'man he holds the rank of Dedicated, and the Talent that comes easiest to him, the making of gateways, is one the men around him mostly undervalue.

The Power has left its marks on him. When he holds saidin too long, shadows gather at the edges of his sight, and there are moments when he cannot be entirely certain of his own sanity.

Around him the Black Tower is quietly dividing, its men split between loyalty to Logain Ablar and favor for Taim, a tension that shows even on the practice range. Androl stands with Logain's side. He is not a man who puts himself forward, yet he leads in his own understated way, and Emarin, Canler, Norley, and Evin Hardlin are among those who follow him.
