Anaiya Carel

Anaiya Carel was a tall woman who kept her rooms in the Blue Ajah's quarters of the White Tower in Tar Valon. Life in those halls ran on strict protocol: sisters deferred to one another by strength in the One Power, and even within an Ajah the maneuvering never quite stopped. Anaiya moved through all of it without apparent effort, a settled presence in a place that was rarely at rest.

Her duties reached into the Tower's most solemn ground, the testing chamber deep in the basement where Accepted were tried for the shawl. Seven sisters stood witness at such a testing, and Anaiya stood for the Blue. She knew the weaving that helped a candidate hold the one hundred required weaves in memory through the ordeal, and her Healing was thorough; a woman who emerged battered from the ter'angreal's trials could leave her hands without a mark on her. When the work was done, it fell to Anaiya to see the newly tested safely back above ground.
