Amadicia
Amadicia is a southern nation of the Westlands, ruled in name by a king at Amador but in practice by the Children of the Light from their Fortress of the Light, a land where Aes Sedai are outlawed.
Amadicia enters The Wheel of Time through mention in the early books, taking clearer shape from The Great Hunt, onward. It lies in the south, west of Altara across the River Eldar, at the tail of the Mountains of Mist, with the desolate Shadow Coast beyond its southern border. A king reigns at Amador, but no one in the Westlands mistakes where power sits. Amador also holds the Fortress of the Light, seat of the Children of the Light, and the white-cloaked order rules the country in every way that counts, whatever the throne pretends. Under that rule Amadicia is the one land where Aes Sedai are outlawed outright; a woman able to channel risks prison or worse merely by setting foot there. The countryside itself is fertile and quiet, and its people are pious, careful with their words, and long practiced at living beside zealotry.
