Alliandre Maritha Kigarin
Alliandre Maritha Kigarin was Queen of Ghealdan, Blessed of the Light, Defender of Garen's Wall, a woman in her late twenties who had come to a throne left dangerously unstable by the chaos of the Prophet Masema Dagar.
Alliandre Maritha Kigarin holds her crown by wit rather than force. Beautiful and elegantly dressed, she carries the polish of a noblewoman born to fine halls, though the kingdom she governs from that height is a far rougher place. Ghealdan is a land under strain: its streets disordered, its people short of food, its borders pressed by Whitecloak power, and its heart claimed by a zealot whose word moves crowds more surely than any royal decree.
Her answer to the Prophet is not defiance. A prouder ruler might spend armies and dignity trying to break Masema's hold. Alliandre bends. She presents herself to him as a woman submissive to his will, all deference and attentive courtesy, and behind that deference she works steadily at the business of ruling: keeping order where she can, feeding her people where she can, holding a fractured kingdom together around a man she cannot control. The submission is a tool, nothing more; the shrewdness underneath it is what keeps Ghealdan from coming apart entirely.
In Samara, where the Prophet keeps his court in a fine stone house and armed men guard the alleys, Alliandre accommodates a fanatic's authority because the alternative is civil ruin. She understands the arithmetic exactly, and she has chosen her throne's stability over her pride.
