Whale Tribe

Of all the beast people in Trash of the Count's Family, none stand taller in their own estimation than the Whale Tribe, and by common account they can back it up. They are the strongest of the beast tribes, rulers of the ocean off the Western Continent's coasts, claiming its peace in their own name, and an old understanding holds between sea and land: the sea leaves shipping routes untouched, and the land stays out of the sea's affairs. Whales are said to outshine even elves in beauty, and their beast forms surface as black, grey, or even pink whales. Their pride yields to no one, not even dragons, the only beings whose strength exceeds theirs. Humpbacks stand mightiest among them, which is why the tribe's kings have always been Humpbacks; Killer Whales rank second, and Blue Whales grow largest of all. Like dragons, they bear few children, and their numbers stay small.
