Most of Trash of the Count's Family plays out on the Western Continent, the landmass where the Roan Kingdom and its neighbors sit. Running roughly north to south, its kingdoms include Paerun at the frozen northern tip, Norland and Askosan below it, then Roan, Breck, the Mogoru Empire at the center, Whipper, Caro, and the Jungle in the far south. Five Forbidden Regions are scattered across it, places held apart as too dangerous to claim, the Forest of Darkness beside the Roan Kingdom and the Gorge of Death among them. The seas belong to the beast people of the ocean: the Whale Tribe holds the northern waters while the Mermaid Tribe keeps to the southern side. It is a crowded, contested map.
