Raon Miru
A young black dragon, about a meter long with blue eyes, freed by Cale from captivity and torture.
Dragons sit at the top of everything, and Raon Miru begins at the bottom of everything. He is first found as a small black dragon, blue eyed and barely a meter long, chained in a cave and tortured by a marquis's son who means to break him into a weapon. Cale Henituse arranges his freedom. What walks out of that cave is a young dragon who distrusts humans on principle and watches everyone; what stays near Cale afterward, usually invisible, is the same dragon slowly discovering that meals now arrive on time. Even this young, he commands magic beyond any human mage. Beneath the wariness he is a child: proud, curious, protective of the people he decides are his, with a dragon's instinct for destruction that sits oddly beside his plump cheeks.
