Paerun Kingdom

The frozen crown of the Western Continent in Trash of the Count's Family is the Paerun Kingdom, holder of the continent's northernmost tip and leading power of its northern region, though it avoids saying strongest out loud out of fear of the Whales in the sea above it. It is a land of knights with few mages to speak of. Its capital, Bago City, turns white in winter, steep pointed roofs carrying snow until the whole city looks built from it. The capital keeps a scar: the Lake of God's Tears, an enormous dry lakebed cracked from shore to shore, with a temple and an altar standing at its northern edge. Nearby sits the household of the Guardian Knight, the Sekka duchy, whose white hair is held to descend from a man touched by a god's falling drop of water, a knight said to have shielded the north from darkness.
