Hong

Two cats pad into Trash of the Count's Family early and refuse to leave, and Hong is the younger of them. He is a child of the Cat Tribe, beast people whose young can wear an animal's shape, and he spends most of his time as a small dark red cat with golden eyes and white tufts at his chest and ears. With his older sister On he flees the tribe that raised them, and the pair end up among the strays Cale Henituse takes in near the start. In human shape he is a charming little boy whose dark red hair matches his fur, complete with one small fang. Hong is curious, affectionate, fond of praise and head pats, and, beneath the sweetness, capable of startling viciousness; life on the run taught the siblings sharper lessons than their manner shows.
