Bear Tribe

Among the beast people of Trash of the Count's Family, the Bear Tribe holds the numbers. They are the most populous of the beast tribes, native mainly to the Eastern Continent, and they come in strains that echo their animal lines, Brown Bears and Polar Bears among them, each with its own cast of strengths. Physically they run huge; a bear tribesman is a large bodied individual by any race's standard. They organize under a king served by ranked administrators, a more bureaucratic arrangement than most tribes bother with. Their reputation, though, rests on something less flattering: other races call them the shrewd tribe, quick to read which way a fight is tilting and quicker to adjust their loyalties to match. In a story full of proud races, the Bears survive by being practical.
