Saturn is the sixth planet from the Sun and the second largest in the Solar System, a gas giant best known for its rings, a vast system of ice and rock particles circling the planet's equator. Composed mostly of hydrogen and helium, Saturn is the least dense of the planets, and its pale, banded atmosphere hides an interior that gives off more heat than the planet receives from the Sun. More than one hundred forty moons are known to orbit it, including Titan, the only moon in the Solar System with a thick atmosphere of its own.
