Pan Han
Pan Han was one of the most prominent members of the Frontiers of Science, a biologist whose detailed predictions about genetically modified foods and crops had proven, again and again, to be correct.
Pan Han created Pastoral China, the first experimental community in the country, and placed it inside one of the biggest cities in China instead of the wilderness. The community owns no property of its own. Rumors even claim that Pan comes from the future.
Wang recognizes him one night outside Shen's house. As Wang is getting into a taxi to leave, another car pulls up and brakes hard at the door, and Pan steps out into the faint light from the house.
