Li Wei is a captain in the Asian Fleet, a low-ranking officer serving as an intermediate EM weapons controller aboard the warship Wannian Kunpeng during a fleet battle, who keeps a clear head as it unfolds.
When Ensign Zhao Xin calls him mid-battle, Li Wei first warns that such voice traffic breaks wartime rules, then studies the data and vector analysis the ensign sends. He notices something odd about the speed, and together the two come close to the truth of the attack, though their finding never travels up the command chain.
