Beijing is the capital of China and a principal setting of The Three-Body Problem, which opens there during the Cultural Revolution.
Beijing is the capital of the People's Republic of China and one of the world's great historic cities, the seat of Chinese government for most of the past seven centuries. Its landmarks range from the Forbidden City, the old imperial palace complex at its heart, to Tiananmen Square and the campuses of the country's most prestigious universities, including Tsinghua University. Beijing was a setting during the Cultural Revolution of the 1960s, and much subsequent action moved through the city's universities and research institutes.
