Zep's Salvage Yard is a ship breaker's yard under a high, pale dome of ceramic and steel, lit from overhead by harsh work lights. Every morning the floor is misted with oil to trap the fines in the dust, so everything in the yard is sticky and smells of gunpowder, and anyone working there still needs eye protection and a mask. Rows of decommissioned ships stand waiting to be cut up, mostly orbital shuttles and semi-automated prospectors, repossessed or damaged past the point where repairing them made sense. It is owned and run by a man called Zep.
