Wendell is a drawling Martian security man stranded on Ganymede, leading a small band of Pinkwater Security guards left behind when the company pulls out.
Wendell first approaches Holden, Amos and Prax with armed toughs, offering a paid escort back to safety. When Holden counters with passage off Ganymede in return for help raiding a tunnel complex where abducted children are held, Wendell takes the new contract with a grin that shows an incisor dyed red and marked with a tiny black and white design. In the tunnels Holden sets him to guard the rear.
